Why Choose Brentacre For Ford Insurance?

For The Love of Fast Fords

Anyone who’s tried to insure a modified Cosworth or an appreciating Mk2 Escort through a comparison site knows the drill. The computer says no, or computer says yes, but doubles the premium for the mods that make the car worth owning. We do it differently, because we own these cars too.

Here’s why we’re trusted by Ford owners:

  • Agreed value cover so an appreciating Capri or RS is insured for what it’s actually worth
  • Every modification considered
  • Limited mileage discounts for cars that come out for high days, shows and track days
  • Owners’ club and enthusiast discounts
  • Project and laid-up cover, so a shell on axle stands is still protected
  • Multi-car policies for those who can’t stop at just one
  • A real person who knows what a Group A homologation special is
  • Optional track day insurance for when the road isn’t enough

Classic Ford Insurance

Retro & Classic Ford Insurance

Specialists In All Things Ford

There was a time you couldn’t give a Mk1 Escort away, but those days are long gone. Clean Mexicos, RS2000s, Lotus Cortinas and 2.8i Capris now change hands for serious money, and the classic Ford scene has never been stronger. The problem is that mainstream insurers still treat a 50-year-old Escort like a used runabout with wrong valuations, no understanding of the mods or the restoration you’ve poured years into.

Our classic car insurance fixes that with agreed valuations, genuine allowance for period and performance mods, and quotes built around how these cars are actually used and cherished.

Retro and classic Fords we know inside out:

  • Escort Mk1 and Mk2 (Mexico, RS2000, RS1600, Twin Cam)
  • Capri (from a tidy 1.6 to the 2.8i and 280 Brooklands)
  • Cortina (including the Lotus Cortina and the GT)
  • Anglia, Zephyr, Zodiac and pre-war Fords
  • Sierra (XR4i, XR4x4 and the cars that started the Cosworth story)
  • XR2, XR3i and the hot Fords that defined a generation

Whether it’s a concours restoration, a fast-road build, or a barn find, our team treats it the way you would. We also welcome car collections and laid-up cover for anything resting up over winter.

Modified Ford Insurance

Engine Swaps, Big Boost & Full Restomods Welcome

If there’s a more heavily modified car culture in Britain than the fast Ford scene, we’ve not found it. Zetec and Duratec swaps into Mk1 shells, EcoBoost conversions, YB turbo builds chasing four figures, coilovers, cages, carbon, it’s all part of the language. And it’s exactly the kind of car most insurers run a mile from.

Not us. Modified car insurance is our bread and butter, and we build the policy around the car you’ve actually created, with every mod declared and rated properly, with an agreed value so the money and graft you’ve put in is protected.

Modified Fords we sort cover for every day:

  • Engine swaps (Zetec, Duratec and EcoBoost into classic shells)
  • Cosworth YB turbo builds and big-power upgrades
  • Coilovers, fast-road and full track suspension setups
  • Roll cages, bucket seats and stripped motorsport interiors
  • Wheels, brakes, WRC-style arches and carbon bodywork
  • Ground-up restomods and one-off custom builds

Whatever stage your build is at, we’ll insure it for what it is.

Modified Ford Insurance

Fast Ford & RS Insurance

RS. Cosworth. ST. The fast Fords carry more motorsport history than almost anything else you can park on a driveway, and the people who own them tend to know every chassis code and boost figure by heart. We’re the same, so we don’t flinch at a 500bhp Sierra or ask why you’d “do that” to a Focus. We just insure it properly.

These cars rarely live a normal life. They’re weekend cars, show cars, track cars, garage-kept investments. We price them for what they actually do, not for the worst-case assumption a mainstream insurer makes about anything with a turbo.

Agreed value, full mod cover, limited mileage and multi-car options come as standard thinking here, not as a battle. And when you want to stretch its legs properly, our track day insurance has you covered.

Our Ford Insurance FAQs

Our Ford Insurance FAQs

Yes, but mostly the enthusiast end of things, such as classics and retro models like the Escort and Capri, fast Fords such as RS and ST models, Cosworths, and modified builds of all kinds. If you’re after standard cover for a daily-driver Fiesta or Focus, a mainstream insurer will usually be cheaper, so we’re better suited to the cars owned for the love of them.

They can do, but not in the way they would elsewhere. We need every modification declared so the car is rated and valued correctly, and in many cases, the right mods on the right car are no problem at all. The important thing is telling us everything, because an undeclared mod can invalidate a claim.

These models are targeted by thieves, so the cover is often subject to security requirements such as an immobiliser, a tracker, or secure overnight storage. The exact conditions depend on the car and the insurer, so it’s best to talk it through when you get a quote rather than assume.

Laid-up cover is available for Fords being restored or rebuilt, protecting the vehicle against risks such as fire and theft when it’s not being driven.

We recognise membership of established Ford clubs and can factor it in. Mention your club when you quote, and we’ll let you know what’s available.
